Section 2 Social media is a web-based medium for people to interact socially or makes communication to be a dialogue that is interactive. With time, it has changed communication in organizations, among people and communities (Jantsch, 2007, 5). Social media has been used to detain a broad array of client’s attention this is through advertising. Advertisement through social media is cheap compared to the old trend of advertisement that would cost millions of dollars (IAB media committee, 2010, 9) As an essential decision-support tool, it has provided a base for customer rapport building. This is by them using the gear and mediums available them to make their decision-making process (Evans and Mcken, 2010, 135& 136). Decision-making social nature has improved with extraordinary force by linking professionals from different generations to each other (Jue et. Al, 2009, 85). In a social networking website, there is potential of one creating useful and meaningful relations with one’s readers (carol, 2011, 187)social network provides a structure of communicating individuals and firms hence interaction is close and wide. This designs a foundation of making relationships and exchange of information (Nguyen, 2011, 5 & 6). Building a network can be used to expand customer closeness that has become today’s mantra (Hutley, 2009, 11). A firm can make its product look appealing to entice a wide range of customers, hence widen its market (Evans& Mcken, 2010, 50). In addition, a company can reach its target clients very easily through its company profile hence save resources like time (Dailey, 2009, 7). Social media provide ground to monitor discussions about the organization hence make the firm sensitive to customers (Craig & Sweeney, 2010, 82). Social media is an education resource. It gives free information from competitors, other brands and acquaintances (Jackobson, 2009, 87)).it helps in managing of a company’s reputation. This is possible as one can see what customers think about its products hence can act accordingly (Weinberg, 2009, 76). Section 3 It has helped me realize that besides my academic qualifications, an employer will look for what else I have to offer in addition. With the current increasing numbers of fresh graduates and more people undertaking higher education, one has to develop other skills outside my classroom. These skills are ability to adapt fast in a changing environment, and competent in communication with clients and colleagues. With this revelation, I have to develop a variety of transferable skills to succeed professionally. These skills will build me to become a professional who is receptive to technical, social, cultural, economic, and change in environment. Business contexts today needs an individual who are aware of their role in building the organization they are situated and should be equipped with practical skills to work effectively in their respective part. To develop these skills I will have to make good use of the assets at my disposal. One of these assets is found in my university. This academic staff is well equipped with resources and appropriate support. Second, is participating and being active in societies, clubs, and life in the university. Third, is being involved in the university’s Work Integrated Learning program (WIL). The program involves students being exposed to cooperative education, sandwich years, learning that is industry based, fieldwork, acquiring internships and job placements. I also have the opportunity by taking a personal initiative of developing my employability skills. This is by; securing employment that is part time, participating in community work also offering voluntary work. This exercise has also given me clarity on the relevance of portfolios. It enables one to market himself/herself to an employer by giving support to what one tells an employer. This is because it shows one’s achievements, documents the range and value of someone’s understanding and training, and shows one’s capability and skills. It also gives me a chance to carry out self-evaluation and assessment. Statistics is extremely critical in all fields involving activity of a man. For instance, it is fundamental in determination of the present situation of people’s income, joblessness and loss of jobs, rate of population growth, schooling, housing etc… in a nation. Currently, its core in nearly all fields (Mathematics, Biology, Trade, Chemistry, Astronomy, Psychology, Physics, Botany, Economics, Commerce etc)… having knowledge on statistics will assist me tremendously in my future professional ventures as a businessperson. In the business field, one is needed to be a fast and precise decision maker. Have knowledge and awareness of clients’ demands in order to know what to manufacture and sell the amount. Statistics will help one in planning production in accordance to customer’s preference; product quality can also be looked into competently. One can also apply it in decision making in terms of business location, product marketing, and financial assets. Key aspects of statistics are compilation of data, organization, breakdown of data, and data elucidation. This assists greatly in business as it enables one to make business plans, make a work out plan for what a firm is currently doing correctly and what is effective for the firm. Statistics should not be taken lightly as it aids learning and development. It assists immensely in opening up one’s reasoning and shapes a person to become someone who does his or her reasoning on basis of having evidence. This is acquired from the aspect of data analysis. Statistics equip one with problem solving capabilities. This comes from the strategies involved in statistical problem solving that needs one to collect sensible and meaningful data. From the high quality of thinking statistically, it has evolved to defining the angle in which people trained in statistics tackle a problem in a wide range on contexts. This in turn produces a graduate with efficient and effective problem solving capability.
