?Is Socialized Medicine A Good Move For The United s? INTRODUCTION The term socialized medicine generally includes discussions relating to universal healthcare which emphasizes upon medical as well as hospital care for all types of customers i.e. high-end as well as low- end customers. Relating to the aspect of socialized medicines, it has been viewed that the services which provided by hospitals are quite low and medicines are also provided in nominal costs with the help of various governmental regulations linked with healthcare (Morse, “The meaning of Social Medicine”). With this concern, the scope of this particular research will comprise those studies that are related with health sciences and medicines within the context of the United States. The overall study will be based on the impact of socialized medicines by analyzing whether socialized medicine is a good move for the United States or not. Various aspects like the effectiveness of socialized medicines in an around the United States and the benefits as well as the ill-effects of socialized medicine will also be evaluated upon. In general, it can be stated that this particular research would be concentrating upon determining the aspect of socialized medicine to be a better move for the US. DISCUSSION In the context of socialized medicine, the concept of healthcare is principally regarded as a product which is commercialized and traded freely on a particular business market. Socialized medicines are considered to be no different from clothing, food and any other good or service. It has been apparently observed that different medical providers competed among themselves for providing healthcare services of best quality with very low prices. While determining the significant concern of determining whether socialized medicine is a better move for the US or not, it can be apparently observed that the financial system of the US is quite strong. Its individual per capita income is also quite high as compared to other countries. The conception of socialized medicine basically aims at targeting the low end consumers whose income levels are much low (Brook, “Why Are We Moving toward Socialized Medicine”?). It is to be stated that there prevail different sections of people possessing lower income levels in the US who need medical services at low costs. Though their income level is much low, they are not able to avail better health check-ups in any privatized hospital. In this similar concern, the aspect of socialized medicine could be quite beneficial for those people as these medicines are quite cost-effective. It can be affirmed from a broader perspective that if the concept of socialized medicine is initiated in the US, then both the medical providers as well as the patients can broadly be benefitted at large. Thus, the scope of initiating socialized medicine can be very promising in the context of the US. In this regard, one of the benefits of introducing as well as executing the idea of socialized medicine in the US would be that the overall medical system prevailing in the nation will be customized for catering to the medical needs of the common man. Specially mentioning, those people who are below the poverty line prevailing in the nation can easily avail greater medical check-ups in hospitals funded by the government of the US. Apart from these, patients can also avail different benefits of health plans that are provided in the hospitals. The government will also provide free insurance schemes for patients and that might be considered as another big benefit for the common man. These types of facilities will not only boost the physiological level of the common man, but will also prove to be a measure for improving the overall health care of the economy by a greater level (Bizzle, Fraga, Seremetis, and Lambrew, “The Specter of Socialized Medicine”). Maintaining effectual healthcare is viewed to be one of the imperative aspects that attract a particular country’s interests. It can also be considered as one of the greatest challenges that any nation can have. Thus, if the US can initiate socialized medicine, then it can acquire an upward leap and the overall medical system of the nation can be improved upon to a drastic level. The US government strongly realized that with the adoption along with the execution of socialized medicine, one of the major advantages would be the welfare of the public that is very much important for a nation’s growth. It is anticipated that the government belonging to the US would provide active support to the country in the initiation of socialized medicines with the objective of developing the economy of the nation at large. In this similar context, the US government tends to provide all the expenses that are required for building the hospitals along with appointing different staffs that would encompass nurses, clerks, doctors and surgeons among others. In addition, all the expenses relating to the functioning and the operations of the hospitals will be provided by the government. This will be very beneficial for the general public and will also prove to be a developmental aspect for the overall nation (Forbes. Com LLC, “A Finalized Path to Full Socialized Medicine in America”). Apart from the aforementioned benefits, there are also certain issues that may arise if socialized medicines are initiated. One of the major problems that can be anticipated is that a sort of situation might occur wherein huge figures of patients including the people belonging to poverty line along with the common public with nominal income would start visiting the hospitals on a large scale. Furthermore, the rich section of the society may also desire to avail the advantage of accessing these hospitals, even if their income levels are much high. These kinds of scenarios may give birth to a situation where there will be extreme number of patients. As a result, the overall service quality of the hospitals will reduce and ultimately it will lead to improper treatment of the patients that might cause serious issue about the governments’ role in introducing socialized medicine. Another problem that will arise is the role of the insurance service providers. Insurance companies offering health insurance to the hospitals may charge extra rate of interests. As a large of patients will be assisted in the hospitals, there will be requirement of more number of insurance policies for covering the patients. With increased number of transaction rates between the hospitals and the insurance companies, the chances of the insurance companies asking high rate of returns from the hospitals is bound to increase. However, if the government possesses sufficient amount of funds, then this issue can be easily tackled (Starr 1-15). Thus, from the above studies it can be easily identified that there exists ample scopes for the US government for developing the nation in terms of delivering effective healthcare, if the aspect of socialized medicines are well executed. There are end numbers of benefits that can be ascertained if this concept is efficiently utilized. All round development regarding the medical as well as the social benefits of the people will be possible. The initiative will broadly target upon the welfare of the people leading towards overall development of health care in the country. Along with the benefits of introducing socialized medicines, there also prevail certain demerits that can be minimized by adopting as well as exploiting deliberate efforts on behalf of the government (Friedson and Lorber 27-35). Thus, on the basis of the above discussion, it can be affirmed from a broader perspective that the introduction of socialized medicine would be a great move for the US by a significant level. CONCLUSION From the overall analysis, it can be concluded that the concept of socialized medicines is holding much importance relating to growth and development of the US economy. There is huge scope of development of the overall healthcare activities in and around the country by the way of introducing as well as exploiting the aspect of socialized medicines. This initiative is intended towards providing large scale benefits to the common man. But, it can be anticipated that there might lay certain issues that the government will face while incorporating socialized medicines. The problems or the issues can easily be curbed by adopting significant measures that the government needs to incorporate. Based on the overall findings, it can be affirmed that the country i.e. the US should move forward with the concept of introducing along with adopting the perception of socialized medicines for the purpose of offering better welfare to the people.
