Outline Research Hypothesis Introduction Aim of study Literature review Research Methods Interpretations/Analysis Conclusions and recommendations Post scriptResearch Hypothesis:Whether the quality of life in older adults in Cyprus may, or may not correlate with levels of education and socio-economic status in this country ? A. Introduction: Topic: This is an outline of a research paper that needs to consider whether levels of education and socio-economic factors play significant roles in determining the quality of life for senior Cyprus citizens.

Aim of study: The main objective of this study is to determine whether the quality of life of senior citizens in Cyprus is dependent upon, or influenced by levels of education and socio-economic status. Objectives: To identity how present levels of education and socio- economic status affect elder Cyprus adults. To establish quality of life enjoyed by senior Cyprus adults and how it is underpinned by education and economic conditions of their lives. To investigate the presence, or absence of correlation between levels of education and quality of life To also examine the presence, or absence of correlation between socio-economic factors and quality of lifeTo emphasize need for transparency and consistent standard practices in ensuring the validity or otherwise of these research studies.B. Literature review: There are several aspects that impact in the context of Cyprus, and these could be said to be as follows:1.

Of the total population of around 1.08 Million, nearly “12.3”% (The world fact book: Definition and notes: T, 2010, Para. 12) could be said to fall in the senior age group bracket, which is- the age of 65 years or more. Thus, according to current estimates, there are nearly 1.34 lacs elderly people in Cyprus. Next, the research also needs to consider that the death rate in this country is also quite low; at 6.4 per 1000 population and the average longevity of people are around 77 years, 74 years for males and 80 years for females as per Year 2009 database.

Thus, it could reasonably be estimated that elderly people could live for quite a long time and would thus need to be cared for during their period of senility. Coming to the level of education, it is seen that literacy rate in this country is quite good, at 97.6% for general population, with a large English speaking population. Besides, Cyprus happens to be one of the most prosperous countries in the Mediterranean region with “Annual GDP real growth rate (2008): government-controlled area: 3.

8%” (Background note: Cyprus, 2009, para.3). Thus, the aspects of high level of education and positive socio-economic growth needs to be aligned with its impact on its elderly populationC.Research Methods: Primary sources derived from actual research surveys conducted with the elderly population of this country and face- to face interviews with selected respondentsSecondary sources derived from previously conducted research studies and its outcomes Internet library searches and web enabled data Relevant materials gleaned from journals, magazines and other publications of private or public interestD.

Interpretations/Analysis: Based upon the literature review and findings of the research studies carried out after gathering data from primary and secondary sources E. Conclusions and recommendations: An appropriate conclusion that would underpin how levels of education and socio-economic factors could impact of quality of life in older adults in Cyprus which may/may not correlate with levels of education and socio-economic status Post script:At the conclusions stage, it is also imperative to declare, citing evidence from the study, whether the Research Hypothesis has been reaffirmed or negated and the reasons for it being so.
