Problems Associated With the Intermittency in Space and Time of Solar Energy Sources The intermittency is the unevenalteration of phases of perceptible chaotic and periodic dynamics. According to Pomeau, intermittency is associated with regular systems that are fully of irregular spaces of chaos and bursts. At some time, changes in the regular system emerge from previous changes of unstable period systems. The systems get far sufficient away from the intermittent orbit to be impacted by disorganized dynamics for the rest of the state gap, until it gets slam to the orbit again and make returns to the practically periodic behavior; as the time spent close to the periodic orbit depends considerately on how closely the system entered its environs, the length of each phase is impulsive. Intermittency in space and time of the energy solar systems has some challenges that are associated with it (Nakayama 89). The intermittency will bring about the stoppage of the function of the systems in place. The functioning of a system is interrupted leading to delayed production. The low levels of production will lead to detailed processes of production which reflect losses in the production of various outputs. Intermittency in solar energy sources is a big menace to production and system development. The intermittency in solar energy causes delays in the production processes in factories that use solar as the primary source of fuel. Many families that use solar energy for homes are left to suffer when intermittency in solar energy occurs (Richards 186). The main way to deal with the intermittency of space and time in solar energy will include management of the transmission grid and storage of solar generated by various means. By managing the network, the mechanical breakdown that lead to intermittency will be reduced. The transmission grid will be able to supply energy without stoppage. The consistent transmission will bring about increased efficiency and effectiveness of the production processes. The transmission grid should be regularly checked by assigned personnel who will make sure that the network is functioning properly at all times. Governments and the private institutions should make sure to allocate enough resources to make sure that good maintenance of the transmission grid is achieved. Personnel with competent expertise should be involved in the maintenance of the transmission network (Richards 123). Generated energy should be stored to make sure that nothing goes to waste. The storage energy will be required during the times when the transmission of power fails. The government should provide various means of storing solar energy. An example is the use of solar panels that transmit power to rechargeable dry cells. The stored energy will be used at the times of energy loss or at times when extra capacities of power are required. The intermittency of the solar energy will not have an adverse effect when storage facilities have been put in place (Shakoor 213). Other than the solar energy private institutions and governments should come up with various methods of generating alternative energy sources. The alternative sources of energy will act as backups when there is the presence of the intermittency in space and time in solar energy. There are some energy sources that are not affected by intermittence by space and time. Such kind of energy sources is preferred by many individuals and business corporations. The sources of energy are throughout the better parts of the year and are always reliable. The energies cannot fail production processes of manufacturers and other days to day activities. Many Business Corporation and individuals will make more capital investment in the sources that are reliable. Solar energy and wind energy is felt unutilized yet they are the ones that can be cheap to tap (Nakayama 234). Sources of the solar energy that do not face intermittency include hydro and geothermal sources of energy. With solar energy, sometimes the solar intensity is not high enough to produce energy. For example during the night solar energy sources are ultimately not available. Nonetheless, during rainy days solar energy sources will not be able to produce any intensity. This results to intermittency that poses threats and losses to production by many individuals and Business Corporation. Investments that are capital intensive should be put in place to make sure that the interval in intermittency levels are maximized in collecting much energy. High voltage machines should be used to store solar energy when it is collected. Experts advice should be sought to make sure that relevant methods and ways of energy storage are enhanced (Shakoor 56). Solar energy has been associated with challenges, the main ones being that, the sources are only available at times when the sun is shining. The sources are not reliable and convenient to production processes. The intermittency in solar energy creates anxiety for various parties that are involved. Critics of renewable energy sources argue that unless proper storage equipment and technology are put in place, the effectiveness of the renewable energy will always remain in shambles. Governments, non-governmental organizations, and private organizations should make substantial capital investments to put in place mechanisms for massive investments in energy storage facilities. The intermittent nature of the renewable sources around the clock possesses the main disadvantage (Armentrout 245). Periodic challenges of the solar energy emanate from the fact that the national transmission grids are not designed for renewable energy sources. Typically, power grids are designed on the concept of large and controllable power generators. Today power transmission networks use a three-phase planning procedure that ensure that the grid power to many regions. The networks are spread to many parts, and they supply adequate power to different areas. Three phase grids are also designed to step up or step down power depending upon energy capacity that is required at various stations. The power and intensity of the power transmission grip cannot be compatible with the transmission requirements of the solar energy. The power transmission carries high voltage power capacity that cannot be generated by the intermittent solar energy. The government prefers to invest in high-voltage grids making the solar energy to be neglected. The energy from the solar sources may not be incorporated into the already established three phase transmission network. The solar energy transmission grid could carry very slight storage capacity that may not balance the electricity capacity required and the demand from the consumers. The balance needs to be maintained to avoid cascading problem and blackout (Dallinger pp.89). Intermittent renewable solar energy sources are challenging because they result in disruption of the conventional methods for making plans o the daily operations of the power electric grip. The intermittence of the solar sources cannot be trusted by individuals and corporate institutions that require energy all the time. The power supply is not consistent. The inconsistency leads to reduced production and profitability of companies. Companies that do have consistent power supply will result in reduced profits that are brought about by delays in production. In addition it spoils the products that are in the line of production by the time energy sources are disconnected. Reduced profitability has adverse effects on the future of the companies at hand. Interested investors and shareholders will not invest more of their capital in the companies shares. The percentage value of the companies is likely to drop at the stock exchanges as a result of the reduction in production. Similarly, the reduction in the share value will scare away prospective investors and shareholders that pose a big threat to the future development of that particular company (Hagens 78). Intermittent issues of solar energy sources will lead to power fluctuations in the power grid over multi-time horizons. The changes force the network operator to keep on making adjustments from time to time. Power fluctuations have some repercussions associated with it. Its inconvenient to the power consumers and can cause damages to the facilities and electronics that may be plugged into power at the time of up and down fluctuations (Alvarado 78). Solar energy is only available during the day. The grid operators need to adjust their generators in a way that they can accommodate fluctuating power energy in their output. The generator outputs need to be made in a way that they compensate for the fall and rise of solar generation. Such types of generators and the adjustment systems are expensive to handle and maintain. Nonetheless, power machines that naturally generate electricity power all day long might instead be asked to turn off in the middle of the day, to allow the energy produced from solar is used in lieu of fossil power electricity (Richards 97). Caused emergency of clouds also causes intermittency of solar energy. Clouds appear at any time of the day; they block the rays of the sun that are needed for energy production therefore initiating more intermittent issues to energy production. The clouds blockage will bring about eventualities that negatively affect the consumers of the solar energy. Changeability caused by clouds makes it more complicated for the grid machinist to forecast on how much extra electric production will be requisite during the following periods of the day. It thus becomes hard to analyze exactly the output that each generator ought to be to achieve the in the next phase (Dallinger 78). Fluctuations of the solar energy sources dont only give disruption to the hourly load flowing phase by the grid operator but the second to second disruption to the demand and supply of the solar energy. The fast fluctuations are detrimental to losses in the various production sites. The delay in power generation will result in delayed individual and corporate processes that are vital for economic development. Third world countries are mainly associated with intermittent solar energy sources. They lack enough resources and mechanisms to make massive investments in grid and generator installations. This delays their processes of economic growth and development (Armentrout 89). The grid operators have difficult times dealing with rescheduling of the network operations. The network operators keep on sending signals, approximately every minute, to the power plants to ensure that amounts of energy injected into the grid consistently balances with the total power intensity of the output. Failure to send the signals will lead to delays and fluctuations that make cause power harm to the consumers. The grid operator is required to have power reserve to make sure that the network is always balanced. The grid operator is supposed to assess the excesses and shortage of the power energy to analyze what is to be reserved (Alvarado 45). It might be seen that additions on very much renewable energy sources can undermine the insubstantial equilibrium of the power grid. The results are that renewable solar energy necessarily becomes additionally conventional as the quantity of renewable generators linked to the network rises thanks to the impact of the Law of Large Numbers and geographic multiplicity (Nakayama 65). The Law of Large Numbers exhibits probability theorem, which says that the overall consequence of an enormous number of unsure processes results in being further predictable as the all the amount of procedures rises. In its application to renewable solar energy generation, the Law dictates that the collective production of every solar energy panel interconnected to the power grid (Hagens 178). Conclusively, governments are supposed to allocate adequate resources for the generation of renewable energy sources. The power grids should be made in a way that they can accommodate fluctuations in energy sources. Grid operators should be well trained and equipped with the relevant expertise that makes them be able to operate the power grids. Governments should procure and install power grids that are affordable for their budget. Nevertheless governments and private institutions should come up with many alternative sources of energy to cater for intermittence of the renewable energy sources.
