There are different methods of calculating the exact concentration of HCL and the deitation process is one of them. The objective of carrying out this process is ensuring that a person understands how to use this method to determine HCL concentration. Getting the exact concentration of HCL is the other objective of carrying out this process. HCL reacts with sodium hydroxide at the level of 1:1 per mole and this means that they strength of one further to the 7th position on the Ph scale is equally further only in the opposite direction.

This proves that to determine the concentration of HCL using this method it has to be done with reference to different molarities of sodium hydroxide
