The study suggests how hypertension can be managed by modification of the ways of lives of the subjects of study as well as their dietary behavior. It also sensitizes people about the risk factors that can lead to development of hypertensive condition. The framework theory that was applied by the researchers in this study was Tran theoretical Model of Behavior change, which was aimed at modifying peoples behavior in relation to diet and physical activity. In this study, the researcher applied a randomized controlled trial consisting of a sample that is made up of 28 women who have hypertension registered in the Primary Health Care Unit, which is situated within the urban region of southeastern Brazil.

The people who took part in the study were by this time going through treatment and management for hypertension but without proper care in their nutritional uptake. They were separated into two groups, with each group consisting of 14 clients, who were given intermediations that were made up of two dissimilar approaches of nutritional management: every month health education workshops only for the first group and put together with family orientation via home visits for the second group. How the subjects of study adhered to proper nutritional guiding principles was assessed through relating to diet, anthropometric, medical in addition serum biochemical considerations, measurements taken in advance and after the intermediations.

The subjects were also asked questions concerning their way of lives and composition of their daily diets. Data was gathered for a period of five months that involved home visits and results of different intervention methods were established. Sample size: The sample size for this study was made up of 28 women who have hypertension registered in the Primary Health Care Unit, which is situated within the urban region of southeastern Brazil.
